- No custodian
- No shared seed phrase
- No smart contract to trust
A blockchain can't tell someone who is gone from someone who is quiet. So between 2.3 and 3.7 million bitcoin are lost for good.1
Stellar now holds more than $3.9 billion in tokenized real-world assets,2 and none of the inheritance tools built for Bitcoin or Ethereum cover it.3 The options today are to share a seed phrase, write it into a will, or lose everything.
How it works
Step 1 of 4
1Name your heir
Pick who inherits: someone with a Stellar wallet, or anyone with an email address. Choose how long Riktha should wait: 90, 180 or 365 days.
Your heir is named, but has no power over your account.
Try both sides
A working preview with demo data. Press “I'm alive” as the owner, or open the inheritance as the heir.

Your heir doesn't need to know crypto
Name them by email. Your browser creates their key and locks it with six words that only you see. Riktha never holds a usable key, and your heir never needs a wallet.

From Riktha
You can claim the inheritance now
Open your inheritance page and enter the six words the owner gave you.

3They claim and send it anywhere
To their bank's crypto account or any exchange, with the memo the exchange asks for.
Enforced by the protocol, not by us
Riktha uses transaction preconditions added to Stellar in Protocol 19. Every guarantee below holds even if Riktha is hacked or shut down.
Riktha never holds a key
The server stores only pre-signed transactions that the network refuses until their time comes.
Early claims are rejected
Submit the handover a day early and validators turn it away. Nothing changes on your account.
One transaction cancels
Anything you send after a notice uses the sequence number the handover needs. It can never run.
Your heir doesn't need us
Their packet works with any Stellar tool, even if this site disappears.
Private until the end
Before the handover the ledger shows two anonymous approvals. Your heir's address appears only at the end.
You keep your key
Your own key is never removed. Before the handover your heir has no power at all.

scenarios proven on Stellar testnet
Early claims rejected, cancels made permanent, handovers completed, estates moved. Every result is a public transaction.

}What it doesn't do
It isn't a legal will.
Your heir may still need probate. Riktha is the technical half that pairs with one.
Only sent transactions count.
Receiving money doesn't reset the clock, and neither does an app that sends your signature through someone else's account.
Standard accounts only.
Multisig accounts and smart wallets aren't supported yet.
Testnet only, and unaudited.

Questions
Can Riktha take my money?
No. Riktha never holds a key that can move funds. The server only stores transactions that the Stellar network refuses until your windows have passed, and even then they can only add your chosen heir.
What if I'm just on a long holiday?
Before anything happens you get reminders at 50%, 80% and 95% of your window, then an urgent alert when a claim starts. One transaction from you, or one tap on “I'm alive”, cancels it.
What does my heir need?
Either their own Stellar wallet, or nothing at all: name them by email and give them the six-word claim code with your will.
What happens if Riktha shuts down?
Your heir's packet holds both pre-signed transactions. They can submit them with any Stellar tool; our /claim page even works without our servers.
Does it cost anything?
It's free while in testnet preview. Network fees are a fraction of a cent.
